I am happy to remain on Delta Membrane Systems Limited’s marketing database and continue to receive your mail-outs.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (a new data protection regime), will becoming legally binding on 25 May 2018. This legal framework will change the way that businesses use and store data.
All businesses will have to comply with GDPR.
At present you are listed as a contact on our digital database, which we use to send out newsletters, e-bulletins, event invites and other relevant information surrounding our business activities.
Your data on our digital database is not profiled or shared with third parties.
We would appreciate it if you could take the time to confirm that you still wish to receive the communications. You are free to opt-out again at any time.
GDPR will affect every business that uses personal data.
GDPR covers several aspects of email marketing, especially how businesses seek, collect and record consent.
With GDPR, businesses will only be allowed to send emails to people who’ve opted-in to receive email communication; GDPR specifies the nature of consent that’s required for commercial communication. Businesses will have to collect affirmative consent that is “freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous” to be compliant with GDPR.
GDPR (clarifies) that an affirmative action signalling consent may include ‘checking’ a box on a website.
Regulations for collecting consent
In addition, the sign-up process must inform subscribers about the business that’s collecting the consent and provide information about the purposes of collecting personal data.
The recipient should be provided with adequate information on how their data will be used. A business must tell its customers how it intends to use the data, giving the recipient the opportunity to object.
We will only ever send you newsletters, e-bulletins, event invites and other relevant information surrounding our business activities.
Consent recording keeping
The GDPR requires businesses to keep record of these consents. All businesses will be required to store consent forms. All forms will have to be present if requested.
We will store consent records in a secure fashion. We will not pass data to third parties nor profile customers.
