Factory Tour – The importance of factory visits and witnessing the manufacturing process first hand cannot be overstated or underestimated. We take pride in our products, so it’s a great opportunity or us to share with our customers and the wider Delta community our comprehensive manufacturing processes for ensuring product quality.
Many may question the value of a Delta factory tour (a couple of days away from work, travel, flights, airports, hotels), these are often perceived as less engaging than some of our other activities, such as our elegant and glamorous black tie event, The Celebration of Innovation. However, visiting Delta’s manufacturing facilities offers unique insights into our production processes and our in-depth quality assurance operations.
December 2025, we proudly invited some of our customers to visit one of our factories in Germany to delve into the core of manufacturing of Delta’s Type C membranes, mastics and External Draiange Protection Layers. The visit was enlightening as our customers observed firsthand the complex production processes which we believe has helped them develop a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind the Delta brand.

Don’t compare apples with oranges
Effective structural waterproofing requires a comprehensive approach involving design, material selection, installation, and consideration to future maintenance to prevent water ingress. It’s crucial to understand project needs, choose suitable waterproofing systems, ensure proper installation, and conduct regular maintenance in some cases.
Focus on relevant metrics: Don’t compare the fire rating of one product with the thermal insulation of another; compare fire ratings to fire ratings and thermal performance data to thermal performance data.
Consider application specifics: A product ideal for below ground, load bearing, and vibrations may be completely unsuitable for above ground.
Evaluate performance in context: The overall system at times can be more important than an individual product’s properties. A system may include multiple products (cavity drainage membrane (DDM), plugs, tapes.
Remember the devil is in the detail: Detailing is key for ensuring quality, and successful approaches to structural waterproofing.
Acknowledge fundamental differences: When comparing HDPE, LDPE, and virgin polymers, it’s important to consider their distinct physical and chemical properties. Ensure you compare them equally across all metrics.
