Delta Amphibia – Engineered to self‑seal. Designed to last
Delta Amphibia is a fully bonded, pre‑applied Type A (Barrier) waterproofing membrane incorporating advanced reactive core technology. The membrane is designed to self‑seal, self‑heal, and self‑repair in the event of accidental puncture, providing continuous watertight protection and resistance to lateral water migration in below‑ground structures.
Type A waterproofing (barrier protection), as defined by BS 8102:2022, comprises a continuous waterproof barrier applied to the internal and/or external faces of structural walls and floor slabs to resist the ingress of groundwater. Systems typically include fully bonded sheet membranes, liquid‑applied membranes, or cementitious coatings, which form a water‑resistant layer designed to prevent water penetration and limit lateral water migration. Type A barrier systems can be installed internally, externally, or within the structure, with each option offering specific design advantages.
Pre‑applied bonded membranes are used to waterproof concrete basements and below‑ground structures on the positive side (external face). The membrane is installed prior to reinforcement placement beneath base slabs and vertically against soil retention systems or formwork, allowing the subsequently cast concrete to bond integrally to the waterproofing system.
Built‑in technology that seals, heals and repairs itself on contact with water
Delta Amphibia is engineered to automatically self‑seal, self‑heal and self‑repair in the event of incidental damage, maintaining continuity of the waterproof barrier. Delta Amphibia uses intelligent technology to protect against water ingress. If the membrane is accidentally damaged, the reactive core activates on contact with water to automatically seal and repair the area, maintaining a watertight barrier. Overlapping membrane joints are continuously protected, while the membrane’s flexibility allows it to bridge small cracks caused by movement. When installed before the concrete pour, the freshly cast concrete is absorbed into the fleece bonding layer, creating a durable, fully bonded waterproofing solution.
Benefits of Specifying Delta Amphibia
Delta Amphibia satisfies all grades of waterproofing in accordance with BS 8102:2022 and is classified as a Type A (Barrier) protection system. The membrane complies with Section 8 – Type A (Barrier) Protection, Sub‑section 8.2.4 (Active Core Liners), and Tables 2 and 3 relating to grades of waterproofing and waterproofing barriers.
Delta Amphibia is an EPDM pre‑applied waterproofing membrane incorporating reactive core technology that activates on contact with water. Its self‑sealing, self‑healing and self‑repairing performance helps maintain the integrity of the waterproofing system in the event of accidental damage. Manufactured as a co‑extruded, multi‑layer polymer membrane, it forms a fully bonded, watertight barrier for below‑ground concrete structures, providing effective resistance to water ingress and seepage.
Delta Amphibia delivers reliable, long‑term protection for demanding below‑ground applications.
Fields of Application
Delta Amphibia is suitable for use in reinforced concrete underground structures where reliable Type A waterproofing performance is required. Typical applications include residential buildings, commercial developments, shopping centres, civil engineering works, and public infrastructure projects.
The system is designed to form a continuous, fully bonded waterproof barrier to foundation slabs and walls, and can be installed against slurry walls, piled walls, berliner walls, and both permanent and temporary formwork systems.
Delta Amphibia is also suitable for use in a range of water‑related and infrastructure applications beyond building basements, including channels, tanks, treatment facilities, and tunnels.
