What is a ‘Cavity Drain System’?

A “cavity drain system” is a structural waterproofing solution that isolates internal wall and floor finishes from water, water vapour and dampness. This article explores cavity drain systems and cavity drain products. A cavity drain system, or Type C, waterproofing system, protects below-ground structures (or any structure that is wholly or partially earth retained from water ingress by allowing water into enter into the structure (via ‘a cavity’) and safely draining it away.

What is BROOFT4?

BROOF(T4) is the highest fire performance rating of roof classification.  Products with this rating will have been tested to ensure there will be no penetration of the roof system within 60 minutes. In addition, during the preliminary test, after withdrawal of the test flame, the selected specimens will burn for under 5 minutes, with a flame spread under 0.38 metres, across the area of burning.
